How To Measure:
To find your perfect fit, grab a pair of jeans or pants you already love and follow these simple steps. This will help you understand how McTavish pants will fit on you.
All you need is a Tape Measure, a flat surface and your favourite pair of pants (to measure against).
Tip: All our measurements are in centimetres (CM) and are taken with the garment lying flat.
Waist (relaxed)
Lay the pants flat and fasten the button. Pull the front waistband upward so it's flush with the back waistband. Measure straight across the top edge from one side to the other.
Leg Opening
Lay the hem flat and measure straight across the bottom of one leg.
Outside Leg
Measure from the very top of the waistband straight down the outer edge to the bottom of the hem. This gives you the total outside leg length.
Front Rise
Measure from the crotch seam (where all the seams meet) straight up the front to the top of the waistband.
What’s Selvedge Denim?
Read the full blog here.
Not all denim is created equal. Selvedge Denim is made for longevity—woven on traditional shuttle looms, producing a tighter, more durable fabric. Often recognised by the red stitching seen when you roll the cuff—the hallmark of a great pair of jeans. This detail is a result of the slow, meticulous weaving process on narrower looms, unlike mass-produced denim, which is cut and stitched from raw edges. Selvedge (or “self-edge”) is finished with a clean, reinforced edge that resists fraying and unravelling over time.
